Roma Education Fund Romania is proud to have attended the official launching of a new educational program named „Educated Romania” (România Educată), which will be subject to public debate for 90 days before being submitted to the Romanian Cabinet. Our organization was represented by Claudia Lixandru, Country Director, Ionela Cristea, Program Director and Dănuț Dumitru, Advocacy Director, at the event that was held on December 5th 2018, at Cotroceni Palace, in the presence of His Excellency Klaus Werner Iohannis, President of Romania and initiator of the program.
Roma Education Fund Romania was actively involved in two of the work groups that wrote the strategies meant to solve serious problems of the educational system. Among these issues, we can count the prospects of a teaching career, the equal and ethical treatment for all participants in the educational system, a higher level of professionalism in the field of educational management, a high-quality vocational and technical educational segment, as well as all-round accessibility to early education.
„Educated Romania represents a strategic project, intended to help define and design an educational system worthy of the 21st century Romania, meant to help those in power come up with better educational policies, to aid the teaching body perform in such a way that will increase the satisfaction of both students, and themselves, but also their employers”, commented Klaus Iohannis on this occasion.
